"A Team" to Speak at Autism Meeting

The Bristol, Virginia City Schools "A Team" will be speaking at the Tuesday, November 17, 2015 TLC Autism Support Group. The meeting will be held at the Bristol, Virginia Public School Board Office located at 220 Lee Street in Bristol, Virginia from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

The "A Team" is a group of faculty that is directly driven to work with children and families of Autistic Children. They will be speaking about their program and how their program is applied in the schools.

“The number of students receiving education in the public school system with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) is growing and we are fortunate to have trained, caring educators in our community who specialize in providing an environment for the student with ASD to become successful,” states Stephanie Poe, Executive Director, Bristol Crisis Center. “We are delighted they can participate in the TLC Autism Support Group this month.”

The TLC Support Group is free; however, RSVP is requested by calling 276-466-2218 as light snacks will be provided.

The Bristol Crisis Center is a non-profit agency which provides free and confidential services to Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Since its beginning in 1973, the Bristol Crisis Center has grown from a hotline for teens to an agency which provides a wide range of services including those dealing with issues of sexual assault, domestic violence, suicide prevention and training, outreach to the elderly and homebound, Mental Health First Aid training and campus safety.
