Crisis Center Hiring Executive Director

POSITION:Executive Director
SUPERVISOR:PresidentBoard of Directors
SALARY:$40,000 — $50,000‚Äč

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  1. Planning, directing, staffing and controlling all operational functions ofthe Center.
  2. Uphold the Mission and Vision of theCenter during all work activities including but not limited to, building community relationships, raising awareness of Center programming, establishing partnerships with other non-profit organizations, and overall public relations.
  3. Provide initial job training,continued educational opportunities and daily supervision to full and part time paid staff and volunteers. Maintain and enhance an employee culture of open, honest, communications within the organization. Provide oversight and supervision of technical aspects of the Center.
  4. Preparation and oversight of all financial matters within grant and budget guidelines, completing grant-required reports in a timely and efficient manner. Seeking and writing new grants, funding proposals, memorandums of understanding.
  5. Preparation of annual strategic plan with quarterly updates of operations including relevant budget changes if needed.
  6. Provide assistance, orientation, training and information to the Board and attend monthly meetings.
  7. Advocate for the Center in the community through outreach and relationship building. Maintain ongoing communications with the community via donation letters, newsletters, community awareness events, social media.
  8. Continuously seek and solicit new funding sources through grants and fund-raising proposals.
  9. Manage the seamless provision of an effective7-day/24-hour telephone hotline, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality of all client services and providing accounting for all calls.
  10. Completion of Center’s forty-hour hotline training is required within six months of employment.
  11. Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:(Education and Experience) Bachelor’s Degree in Business Related field (Management, Finance, Human Resources, Public Relationsetc.) or Social Work or related field, Administration (Public, Educational, etc.)(Master’s Degree preferred).Five (5) years of progressively responsible managerial experience inone or more of the above areas including five (5) years in a supervisory capacity. A demonstrated record of creative leadership of an organization in a growth environment. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. A valid State driver's license is required.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of administration, including planning, budgeting, accounting, public relations. Considerable knowledge of the principles and techniques of public and workplace communications, grant writing and fund raising. Considerable knowledge to plan, administer, analyze and coordinate a variety of operational programs. General knowledge of the laws, ordinances and regulations governing nonprofit organizations. Considerable knowledge of budgetary and financial processes. Ability to plan, assign, delegate and direct the work of supervisory personnel. Ability to supervise the maintenance, retention, backup and destructionof a variety of records, and to prepare and submit required regular and special reports. Ability to investigate employee/supervisory complaints, analyze facts and to exercise sound judgment and to arrive at valid conclusions. Ability to counsel lBoard members on alternative strategies when confronted with operational problems involving disciplinary action, promotions, morale, recruiting, etc. Considerable ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally, and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public administrators, Board members, representatives of other organizations (civic and professional), and the public.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:May require announced or unannounced overtime work and the ability to respond to call-out work during non-working hours or emergencies. Works primarily indoors in air-conditioned environment. However, visits to various job sites in the City, County and State is expected.
